4. player. 50. Adams is a very intriguing prospect. He lacks the size of a stereotypical NFL quarterback and this may put a lot of teams off of drafting him but there is a lot of potential in him. He is very athletic and has the ability to escape pressure but he’s not a run first quarterback. He doesn’t have the big arm to throw long balls but is good at short to intermediate throws and this may suit the Lions new look offence. With the retirement of Calvin Johnson the Lions have lost their big downfield threat and may look to make a lot of shorter throws especially with the emergence of Theo Riddick as a deadly receiving option out of the backfield which would pair well with Adams who is adept at short throws and screen passes. Add in Abdullah, Jones, Tate and Ebron as short receiving options and the Lions offence could look completely different but possibly more effective. I don’t expect Adams to replace Matthew Stafford or even challenge for the starting job next season but Stafford isn’t an elite quarterback who may look for an elite payday in the near future.
