A couple of weeks ago the Bears decided to part ways with Matt Forte. Five seconds later Lions fans clamored for him all over social media. The clamoring only got louder earlier this week when the Lions cut Joique Bell who was slated to be their third or fourth running back in 2016 had he stayed on the roster.

This is a Just Say No for both parties. On Forte’s side, he’s just not going to want to play in Detroit. On the Lions side, they don’t need him nor should they want him. While Forte can still do some things, he turns 31 next season. Even if a deal did get worked out, the likelihood that it only lasts a year is strong. Plus you must put aside your past thoughts on Forte; he’s just not that guy anymore. His numbers have steadily declined the past three years and Detroit has a young group that can do everything that Forte can presently offer.

Look for Forte to end up in New England or Denver.
