Address Defensive Tackle in the draft

Detroit Lions 2016 Mock Draft
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports /

This morning our own Scott Bischoff put out a great article about the Lions possibly using their first two draft picks on defensive tackles back to back. It’s an approach that can really pay off for the Lions in the long run as there are up to ten defensive tackles that grade out as first round talents. As Scott outlines in his article, this represents a perfect opportunity for the Lions. Especially after they lost Suh last season.

The Lions have a chance to shore up a real problem here and at a much lower cost than free agency would offer. Plus if the Lions decide to trade back into the first, they can hit a different position and still have talent to get in the second and even third rounds. Scott says to keep your eye on Andrew Billings of Baylor and Louisville’s Sheldon Rankins amongst others.
