While the NFL preseason may be just, well, the preseason — it was still fun to watch for Detroit Lions fans. With the exhibition contests now in the books, lets take a look back at some of the biggest moments and brightest players.

At a certain point, defenses are just gonna stop trying to tackle Zach Zenner at the goal line.

If you don’t know the story, you’ve been living under a rock. Zenner went undrafted during the NFL Draft and joined the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent. He got off to a somewhat quiet start while fellow rookie, (whom we’ll cover in a minute) Ameer Abdullah came out with guns blazing in week one of the preseason against the New York Jets. By week three however, not only had everyone in the Motor City taken notice of Zenner, but the national media had as well.
For that reason, it seems like an almost certainty that Zenner would not survive the practice squad and the Lions will either be forced to put him on the final 53 man roster, or be prepared to cut ties.
I believe I speak for Lions fans everywhere when I say that this kid deserves to be on the team.
RB, Ameer Abdullah

Paired with Zenner and the returning Joique Bell, it appears that the Lions are indeed stacked at running back with a group that can juke you, truck you, or both. Throw Theo Riddick in the mix and there is a lot to be excited about in 2015!

Ok, so I snuck that in there. It was too good not to.
It’s obviously no secret, Golden Tate is a real play-maker. He exploded on the scene in Detroit in 2015, recording 99 catches for 1,331 yards. In 2015, as I recently stated on Lions Central Radio, I predict even bigger numbers WITH a healthy Calvin Johnson on the field.
DT, Tyrunn Walker

The fact that Tyrunn Walker was showing his true potential in regards to the power he possess coming off the ball is phenomenal entering the season. Having a guy the caliber of All-Pro Haloti Ngata should also help with his further development.
While we are sure there are some that we missed, these were just some of our favorite moments from the Detroit Lions preseason. What were yours? Was it one that we missed? Let us know in the comments section below!
