Players Looking Good in May

Eric Ebron

It’s a good sign that a 1st round pick from the previous season is impressing, right?  If we look around the league, we’ll see the same from every 1st round pick in 2014.  That’s not to say that Ebron isn’t doing well, only that it doesn’t mean much at this time.  He has had a season to digest the offense, speed up to the NFL, he SHOULD be looking better.

Quandre Diggs

The aforementioned nickelback is getting looks with the first team and good for him.  This one is actually kind of impressive even though he’s getting looks ahead of two injured players.  Ignoring Bentley and Lawson’s injuries, Diggs is also playing ahead of the newly acquired (and paid) Josh Wilson, who was brought in as an assumed lock at nickel.  He’s also starting ahead of Mo Seisay and Don Carey, both of whom played nickel at some point last season.  Good on the rookie in this instance.

Caraun Reid

This is another one that actually might mean something.  As someone who had Reid rated much higher than the 5th round, where he was selected, he was a surprise disappointment in 2014.  Not only did he fail to make an impact, he was downright bad at times.  Players that come from teams outside the bigger conferences tend to have a steeper learning curve due to the level of competition they face and I’m hoping that Reid’s 2014 struggles were only that.  A penetrating force when he’s on, Reid got some work with the first team and might even be contending for starting time sooner than later which would be both amazing and awesome.
