I’m a bit surprised to see Geno hayes still sitting around waiting for someone to call. After a pretty decent start to his career in Tampa Bay, Hayes has been unable to replicate that anywhere else in the league. The reason for it goes back to his days in Tampa Bay.
So the question is “why give Geno Hayes a chance?” You give Hayes a chance for the same reason you gave George Johnson a chance. Some guys need to be in the right scheme at the right time. Also when it comes to guys like Hayes, some guys just work out better when they are not starters. Hayes could rotate in and out with Levy and Van Noy and Tulloch can keep him on his toes to try to avoid the inconsistencies.
