Super Bowl Predictions: SLR Staff Picks
By Zac Snyder

The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are just about set to meet in Super Bowl XLIX. Who has the edge? The SideLion Report staff weighs in with their Super Bowl Predictions.
Kent Platte – Russell Wilson led one of the most exciting comebacks in playoff history, while Tom Brady is one of the most celebrated post season quarterbacks ever. Still, I feel that it is the defenses that will make the biggest impacts. Legion of Boom? Brady should do just enough to get the job done, while the Pats opportunistic defense take advantage of Wilson’s occasionally turnover prone ways. Patriots over the Seahawks, 24-20.

Zac Snyder – It took a miraculous comeback for the Seahawks to win the NFC Championship Game over the Green Bay Packers while the New England Patriots waltzed in with an easy win over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game. In some ways, the 2014 season has felt like a bit of a sleepwalk for the ultra-talented defending Super Bowl champions with a slow start to both the regular season and the NFC title game. Now that they are back in the big game, I expect the Seahawks to play their best game of the season. It will still be tight, but the Seahawks win, 24-23.
Braden Shackelford – The seahawks might have all the flash and flair, but my pick is the Patriots. They have the best coach in the NFL and the most experience of the two teams facing off. Patriots 27, Seahawks 24
Max DeMara – It’s hard to conceive of repeats in the Super Bowl era, but if there was a team that seems destined to do it, it’s the Seattle Seahawks. Their aggressive defense made life difficult for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots back in 2012, thus announcing their arrival. Though times have changed, the Legion of Boom will once again be the biggest difference. Seattle’s offense, meanwhile, does just enough. The Sehawks repeat in fairly dominant fashion. Seattle 24, New England 17
Darin Ackerman – With a record-tying fourth ring on the line for Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady, you can expect New England to be hungry for the win. However, the recent brouhaha surrounding the Pats and their football PSI preferences has been distracting enough that the Seahawks will likely walk away from Sunday’s game with back-to-back Superbowl wins.
Two of the best defenses going head-to-head, coupled with marquee quarterbacks who have almost identical QBRs for the postseason, will make this a game a battle of wills. The difference maker in this match up will be special teams, where the Seahawks get the edge. Prediction: Seahawks 23, Patriots 20
