Markus Golden (#33), DE – Missouri

Markus Golden was part of the duo who had stepped up to fill the shoes of Kony Ealy and Michael Sam for the Missouri Tigers. Surprisingly, while behind those two in the depth chart, Golden was the most productive end for Missouri in the 2013 season, putting up 55 tackles, and 13 TFLs and 6.5 sacks.

While the 6-3, 255 lb. edge rusher may lack prototypical size for a 4-3 end, he’s the kind of player you want in the trenches on your team. All heart, Golden’s relentless effort allows him to make a lot of plays on second effort.

In addition to his high motor, Golden combines fluidity, balance and good hand technique to routinely beat blockers in space. With some added weight, Golden has the potential to be a solid wave rusher in a 43 front and would have value as a day two selection.
