The Lions headed to Dallas as big underdogs for a week three meeting with the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. While the national audience may have been expecting a blowout, it was anything but as Barry Sanders carried the Lions to an improbable 20-17 win in overtime.
Both Lions touchdowns came on passes by Scott Mitchell but his 174 passing yards were eclipsed by the 194 rushing yards Sanders accounted for on 40 carries.
