Read “Tailgaters Beware” here
It makes sense on the surface. The United States already taxes the hell out of cigarrettes, beer, wine, and just about everything else so raising the taxes on alcohol really makes sense. Especially when you figure in the money dolled out to save GM…snicker…and of course bail out the credit card companies that just tried to raise my interest rates. Oh wait, I don’t like talking about politics…let me step down off this soapbox.
Where was I? Ah yes, beer prices. It has become a staple for sports enthusiasts. Beer and liquor at tailgate parties, beer and liquor at home [...]

This day is for my Grandfather Ernie… My Great Uncle George and my friend Patrick who is out there overseas in Iraq with the Army 1st Cavalry right now.
My Great Uncle Georgie didn’t make it back… My Grandfather received a Purple Heart.
For or Against war, it doesn’t matter. On this day think of the loved ones that are out there in harms way. May they make it home to see their families!
Memorial Day
is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 25 in 2009). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while [...]
I loves me some Detroit Tigers.
I’m currently getting awful close to drinking the Kool-Aid; I’m still feeling a little burnt as a season ticket holder last year, but this season they are off to a very strong and somewhat unexpected start and credit should go to those it is due.
Oh and Joe Dexter has posted here too, he handles the Mock Draft stuff and he was tirelessly filling us in here at sidelionreport.com so show him some love and go visit!

I keep toying with the idea of splurging on a 10 game pack… I bought the 27 game pack last [...]

Michael Vick is out of prison and headed home, broke and reviled for running a vicious dogfighting ring, but hopeful for a second chance at his once-charmed life as a star NFL quarterback.
The suspended quarterback served 19 months in prison on the dogfighting conviction that capped one of the most astonishing falls in sports history — one that stole his wealth and popularity.
“Football is on the back burner for now,” said agent Joel Segal, who negotiated Vick’s 10-year, $130 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons but will be asking for substantially less if his tarnished client’s suspension is lifted [...]
Sorry Guys… There is Just Nothing Going on Right Now… However I Hear Culpepper Looks like a STUD
1st things first…. GO RED WINGS!
They look hella solid and I think it’s yet another cup. All this from Ken Holland… A guy that hasn’t had a top 10 draft pick in like 15 years and not only won a lot of games in the free for all peroid, he rolled into the cap era with a loss for a conference title and followed that with a Stanley Cup. Lions: Please pay attention to this man.
Other than that I’m hearing that Culpepper is looking fabulous. We know that he is the out right starter, but I myself question [...]

Again, you are knee-jerk. You just don’t get it. I’m not angry with you. Please understand. You think you know how to build a team based on…I’m not sure…what is it that gives you the confidence to believe you know?
Where is the data and your research notes that backup your hypothesis?
The OL is not that terrible. STOP watching ESPN and reading these “insider” blogs.
…you are not going to take my advice and do the homework are you? You’ve no desire to get to the nuts and bolts of the problem. You want to be Bill O’Reilly and all that [...]
If You’re Done With Those Naked Pictures Of Rihanna, Kevin Smith Thinks We’ll Make The Playoffs
We’ll be in the Playoffs
Written By Kevin Smith May 6, 2009 for his blog www.Smith34.com
I won’t make a prediction about how many games we’re going to win, but I will say this: We will definitely make the playoffs this season.
Believe it or not we weren’t far off last year. Almost every game we could have won, we were one play or one player short. Except for Tennessee on Thanksgiving, they just came out and beat us to sleep. They manhandled us, but nobody else did.
We’re going through OTAs right now, doing the off-season thing. Everybody is working hard to prove themselves [...]

Are you even a Lion’s fan? All free Agents have to come from somewhere. He was a cap casualty, not cut becasue he can’t hack it. You weren’t pissed about the trade for Julian Petereson who is older and plays OLB, but your upset Detroit signed a good MLB to a one year deal. Anytrhing is an upgrade over last years linebacking corps. What did you want them to do? Keep Paris Lenon who probably won’t even play this year in the NFL?
Dude, your blog sucks and I am no longer reading it. Opinions aside, your content just blows [...]
Brett Favre will be meeting with the Vikings Head Coach this afternoon. Some may say the Vikings team is a complete package minus a Quarter Back.
If they sign Favre, they’ll be a complete package!
(Minus a Quarter Back.)
Favre is joining the ranks of the NFL Future Hall of Famers that just can’t let go. Jerry Rice reluctantly retired when he could make the Seahawks roster, but only at a humble 4 on the depth chart. Emmitt Smith spent a year or two on an absolutely pitiful Cardinals team; I had the pleasure of watching the ever prestigious Joey Harrington carve them [...]
Because at 0-16 and drafting Tight End’s, the guy that Super Bowl Champion Pittsburg Steelers didn’t feel was good enough has signed a one year deal with the Lions
this is obviously a triumph for us all.
