The Detroit Lions were back on the practice field Thursday in preparation for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. On Wednesday, head coach Dan Campbell seemed to foreshadow a physical session that was to come.

Wednesday practice reports can be easy to overreact to, since it's the first day of practice three days removed from a game in a normal week. Thursday practice reports usually are more telling, the day before the final injury report for the week comes.

Here's a look at Thursday's practice report for the Lions.

  • DL Josh Paschal (illness): DNP

Second Lions practice report for Week 9 sees many players return

As he told reporters on Wednesday, Goff was back at practice on Thursday. Also as expected, Ragnow, Glasgow, Zeitler, Onwuzurike and Reader were full participants on Thursday after getting a rest day Wednesday. Viaki was also a full participant after he did not participate in normal practice on Wednesday.

After not practicing Wednesday, Decker was listed as limited with a chest issue on Thursday. Campbell will surely address a question about the Lions' left tackle's prognosis for Sunday when he meets with the media before Friday's practice.

Martin started the season on IR, and he is now two days into his 21-day window to be added to the 53-man roster.

Wingo is a new addition to the injury report, limited on Thursday due to an ankle issue. Fresh mid-week injuries often aren't a great sign for a player's ability to play in the upcoming game, but Friday will provide more information on the rookie.

Rodriguez is reportedly expected to miss at least Week 9 with the ankle injury he suffered in Week 8, so his absence from Thursday's practice was expected and not surprising.

Paschal missed Week 8 after something came up during an annual cancer screening last week. On Wednesday Campbell said it was "TBD" if Paschal would be able to play against the Packers on Sunday, so there may be an update from the head coach on Friday morning.

Here is the Packers' practice report for Thursday.
