As part of the pre-draft process, each NFL team has what's appropriately tabbed a "local" Pro Day. It's often a way for draft prospects who otherwise may not get a lot of exposure on the pre-draft circuit, outside of a stray invite to a bigger school's Pro Day. In general, draft prospects from schools in a team's local area can participate.
The term "local" also extends to include draft prospects who went to high school in the area local to a team. Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson, who is still often matched to them in mock drafts, and Clemson defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro fit that bill this year for the Lions. Auburn defensive tackle Justin Rogers could also be of some interest to the Lions late in the draft as they possibly seek defensive line depth.
On Tuesday, as first reported by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press (subscription required), the Lions will hold their local Pro Day.
