Each summer, the NFL releases a list of the Top 100 players for the upcoming season. So which, if any, Detroit Lions will make the list for 2023?

Each summer, the NFL releases its list of the top 100 players for coming season. The Detroit Lions haven't been greatly represented in recent years, including no players making it last year.

As a team on the rise, it's fair to assume the Lions will have someone (multiple someones?) on this year's top-100 players list. So who might make it? Or who might fall just short?

Let's start with those who may just miss, or just make, the top-100 this year.

Honorable Mentions:

As a member of the Chicago Bears, David Montgomery made the list year, checking in at No. 98. Will changing teams hurt his status on the list? Would it be possible for Jamaal Williams to take his place after posting a career-high 17 touchdowns for the Lions last season? I think Montgomery falls outside of the top 100.

Jared Goff posted one of his best statistical seasons in 2022. Will that be enough to boost him into the top 100? Last year there were 13 quarterbacks listed on the top 100 list. Will Goff jump Kirk Cousins or Mac Jones? I think Goff could land somewhere in the 90s.

Which Detroit Lions are locks to make the NFL's top-100 for 2023?

There are a few Lions who feel like locks for 2023's top-100 players list.

Amon-Ra St. Brown stands to make the biggest move and jump into the top 100 players, and I think he will be the highest-ranked Lion on this list. Since coming into the league, St. Brown has been one of the most productive receivers in the NFL. St. Brown is arguably a top-10 receiver in the league and has the stats to back it up. I think he cracks the top 50.

Penei Sewell has quickly become one of the best right tackles in the NFL. Still only 22 years old, he has roome to get better. Sewell was drafted out of Oregon as a left tackle. But with Taylor Decker locking down that spot, Sewell made the move to the right side and hasn’t looked back. Sewell seems sure to check in safely within the top 100 players this year.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson also feels sure to be a lock for this year's list. He is one of the best young defensive backs in the NFL. Building off of last year's six interception campaign, look for him to crack 2023's NFL Top 100 players list.
