Detroit Lions rookie tight end Sam LaPorta reportedly is trending in the right direction to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

LaPorta will work out pregame to determine if he can play through a calf injury.

If LaPorta can’t go, it would be a pretty big blow to the Lions’ passing attack. So far this season, the rookie tight end has 25 receptions for 289 yards and three scores.

Sam LaPorta injury status for Week 6 game vs. Buccaneers

LaPorta is listed as questionable for Week 6 against Tampa Bay with a calf injury. If he can get through warm ups, he should have a chance to play this week.

Best Sam LaPorta prop bet for Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sam LaPorta anytime touchdown scorer

LaPorta found the end zone twice last week and he’s found it three times in his last three games, but he’s still +250 to score in Week 6.

If LaPorta can play – even if he’s limited – I’d imagine the Lions want to use him as a target in the red zone on offense.

Given the target share that LaPorta has seen this season – at least five targets in four of five games – he’s a solid bet to hit paydirt this week.
