Panthers vs. Lions best anytime touchdown scorer picks

The Lions offense showcased the run-game in Green Bay last week, but with the return of Jameson Williams, they might light it up through the air against Carolina.

Last week, the Detroit Lions had their physicality on full display against the Green Bay Packers. They ran the ball all over their division rivals for a 34-20 victory. Now, at 3-1 against the 0-4 Panthers, they will be getting back a valuable weapon on an already excellent offense.

There isn’t much to like about the Carolina offense with Bryce Young at quarterback, so we’ll back three Detroit Lions with our three anytime TD bets this week.

When you’re betting on this matchup in Week 5 of the NFL season, make sure to take advantage of this great promo from the Caesars Sportsbook.

Panthers vs. Lions anytime TD picks

  • Sam LaPorta Anytime TD (+180)
  • Jameson Williams Anytime TD (+350)
  • Jared Goff Anytime TD (+650)

Sam LaPorta Anytime TD (+180)

In his rookie season, LaPorta has been very involved in Detroit’s offense. He is second to only Amon-Ra St Brown in targets with 27 and he’s caught 22 of those. Yet, he still only has one touchdown on the year. In fact, Jared Goff has only thrown six touchdowns, because David Montgomery has been so effective around the goal line.

Eventually, with so many targets in a great offense, the rookie tight end will start to reach the end zone and I think there is a lot of value betting him to score this week.

Jameson Williams Anytime TD (+350)

It’s only fitting to bet on a fellow gambler in his first game back from suspension. A true deep threat is the only thing that this Detroit offense is missing and they’ll be happy to take a few shots with Williams against Carolina. It could be a few weeks before he is fully integrated, but limited involvement is baked into the +350 odds.

Williams only has one career reception, but that went for a touchdown, and I’m betting on the talent that we saw at Alabama to come through in the NFL.

Jared Goff Anytime TD (+650)

Amazingly, Goff is first in the NFL in red zone carries by a quarterback. He has rushed the ball 12 times this season and 11 of those have been inside the 20-yard line. Yet, Goff has only scored once. With that volume of carries near the end zone, I have to back Goff to score, even if he’s not exactly known as a mobile QB.
