Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown gets fully into playoff spirit with hair color choice

Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has a new hairdo, and it's a perfect reflection of the playoff spirit in Detroit.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a Pro Bowl-caliber season (119 receptions, 1,515 yards, 10 touchdowns), and he has reacted to the snub just the way you'd expect him to.

The Lions are hosting a playoff game for the first time in 30 years on Sunday night, and the first time ever at Ford Field, against the Los Angeles Rams and former Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford. One of the wide receivers who made the initial NFC Pro Bowl roster instead of St. Brown, record-setting rookie Puka Nacua, will also be on the opposite sideline.

So "The Sun God" will be plenty fired up and motivated for the playoff game on Sunday night, perhaps more than any Lions' player this side of quarterback Jared Goff.

St. Brown, as could be expected he might, did something to fully get into the playoff spirit heading into his first career postseason game.
During his 2021 rookie season, St. Brown dyed his hair blonde like he had during his time in college at USC. But he has taken it to another level this week, posting photos on Monday.

Blue hair. Or, more specifically in true Lions' spirit, "Honolulu Blue" hair.

Check it out.

The reception about St. Brown's new hair color has been roundly positive. The question now becomes how fast his hair might grow out, in concert with how long the Lions last in the playoffs.

When C.J. Gardner-Johnson donned a blue ski mask and called for a full embrace of the villain role early in the season, Lions' fans followed suit by quickly running Amazon retailers out of blue ski masks before the Week 2 home opener.

Along the same lines, plenty of Lions' fans in attendance at Ford Field on Sunday night (and maybe quite a few who will just be watching the game at home) will surely now have their hair dyed Honolulu Blue to match St. Brown.
