Lions vs. Raiders Week 8 Opening Odds Show Detroit Fans Shouldn't Worry
By Joe Summers
The Lions hope to rebound from an embarrassing Week 7 loss to the Ravens, hosting the Raiders on Monday Night Football this week.
Despite the blowout, Detroit is still 14-3 against the spread (ATS) in its last 17 games and is a huge favorite over Las Vegas. The Raiders are 2-4 ATS in their previous six contests after an equally-poor effort against the Bears.
Opening odds indicate Lions fans shouldn't be worried - this team is still a Super Bowl contender. Find those odds below, as well as how to claim an INSTANT $200 DraftKings bonus betting just $5 today!
Lions vs. Raiders Week 8 Opening Odds
The Lions opened as eight-point home favorites with -360 moneyline odds and the total points set at 44.5.
There are a lot of reasons to like Detroit's chances for a bounce-back victory. In their last eight home games, the Lions are 7-1 ATS while averaging 31 points per game. The Raiders are just 1-5 ATS in their previous six road tilts, failing to score more than 17 points in any contest.
Detroit's defense had been among the league's best before getting shredded by Lamar Jackson and I expect the unit to stifle a middling Las Vegas offense. Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to return, but he's already thrown eight interceptions to just seven touchdowns on the season.
You always worry about overlooking your opponent, but the Lions should be focused given last week's debacle.
