With was was surely a late entry, Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs took home Kyle Brandt's "Angry Runs" scepter for Week 8.

Every Tuesday morning, the "Angry Runs" segment on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" is must-see tv. Co-host Kyle Brandt gets into the segment, as if he were one of the entrants with the energy he expends. This year, there's even a WWE-style entrance involving his co-hosts.

Back in Week 5 of the 2021 season, then-Lions running back D'Andre Swift won "Angry Runs" with his lowering of the boom on Vikings' defensive back Bashaud Breeland. Swift went on to say Breeland had it coming on the "Angry Run", due to a bit of a dirty play earlier in the game.

It's fair to assume the three runs that will be featured on "Angry Runs" is pretty much determined before each week's Monday night game. Not that footage of a run befitting the segment can't be found and added to the segment, it's just that it's rare for it to happen. It would take a special run during a Monday night game to make the segment.

Jahmyr Gibbs wins Week 8 of "Angry Runs" with worthy late entry

Gibbs had a fantastic night on Monday night against the Raiders. He had 152 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground, and his 189 total yards (on 31 touches) was more than Las Vegas had as a team.

He also earned a spot in the "Angry Runs" segment for Week 8, as seen at about the 4:15 mark of this video.

Gibbs shows his explosiveness and power in equal measure during this run, as he did on a few runs Monday night, even trucking teammate Josh Reynolds in the middle of it. That part, trucking a teammate, really got Brandt's attention.

Brandt's co-hosts were split on who should win, with a vote for each candidate. But he's the deciding vote no matter what Peter Schrager, Jason McCourty or Jamie Erdahl say, and Brandt gave the Week 8 scepter to Gibbs.

The weekly "Angry Runs" winner sends in a photo of them with the scepter, which is shown the following Tuesday. If we know the Lions' PR team at all, they and Gibbs will come up with something cool for the photo they send in.
