The Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons are two up-and-coming teams in the NFL, and they should play an exciting Week 3 matchup this week.
One thing every fan and fantasy owner wants to know is who will score a touchdown in this game, so I decided to pick my three favorite players to bet on to do just that.

Best anytime touchdown scorers for Falcons vs. Lions
- Jahmyr Gibbs (-135)
- Sam LaPorta (+195)
- Bijan Robinson (-105)
Jahmyr Gibbs anytime touchdown scorer
Through two NFL games, Lions rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs has 14 carries and nine catches (on 11 targets), but one has to think he gets an expanded role with David Montgomery banged up.
There’s a chance that Montgomery (thigh) doesn’t play in this game, and if he misses, Gibbs should get the lion’s share of the touches in the backfield.
I don’t mind taking the rookie in this spot to score his first career touchdown, as it’s only a matter of time before Campbell gives him a shot to perform in the red zone. Montgomery has dominated goal-line work so far this season, so if he sits out Gibbs should see several more touches with a chance to score.
Sam LaPorta anytime touchdown scorer
Rookie tight end Sam LaPorta has 10 catches on 11 targets through two games this season, catching at least five passes in each matchup.
He hasn’t found the end zone, but he could see a bigger role in Week 3 if Amon-Ra St. Brown (toe) is limited or out.
Plus, the five catches per game is a solid floor of usage when considering LaPorta for this prop. Atlanta has a solid defense, but based on opportunities, LaPorta is one of my favorite picks for this game.
Bijan Robinson anytime touchdown scorer
Whether Lions fans want to admit it or not, Bijan Robinson is going to be the most dynamic player on the field in this matchup.
The first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft has been elite through two NFL games, scoring once and averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
He’s amassed 180 rushing yards on 29 carries and 75 receiving yards on 10 catches. The Falcons are likely going to go to him as much as possible, so I love his chances of hitting paydirt for the second time this season.
