People are trying to start a bogus Detroit Lions uniform controversy

Would you be interested in the tears of some extremely salty Rams fans? And when I say salty, I really do mean it; the levels of coping coming from Los Angeles in the wake of the Rams' overtime to loss to the Lions in Week 1, is already reaching unprecedented new heights.

The gist of it is, broadly speaking, that it's hard to play the Lions in Detroit. I agree, this is groundbreaking stuff. There's been some chatter across the web in the last few days over the fact that the Lions wore all blue and that, somehow, it's a big ruse coordinated by the team in order to confuse whoever the Lions are playing.

Matt Stafford's red zone interception – where it looked like he just straight up did not see Kerby Joseph in the end zone – is being pointed to as definitive proof that the Lions are playing weird mental games with their color scheme.

It sounds like exactly the type of conspiracy theory that is, uh, very popular on the internet these days. So let's check in with the Lions' starting QB himself and see how ridiculous he thinks this idea is.

It's not the Lions' fault that blue-on-blue uniforms look especially clean. They are simply giving the fans what they want, if if the fans want to see their favorite players camouflaged in royal blue so that former Lions star Matt Stafford throws a crucial red zone interception in front of a nationally-televised audience on Sunday Night Football, who are we to dispute that?

Honestly, the Lions should take it one step further. Add hashmarks to the jersey! Sprinkle some turf green accents on the side. Ford Field is quickly becoming the most difficult stadium in the NFL to play at, so why not just lean in and make it the undisputed champion? It's not a uniform controversy, it's a uniform strategy.
