4. San Francisco 49ers

After Nick Bosa, who is currently holding out, the 49ers don't have a fantastic or especially deep group of viable edge rushers. They are trying to get over the hump and get back to, and maybe even win, the Super Bowl. So in win-now mode, with a starting quarterback on a cheap salary for a few years, any shortcomings that can easily be addressed will simply not suffice.

Okwara's potential alone is enough to possibly get San Francisco's attention. Add in likely being able to get him for next to nothing, with potential conditions on a late-round pick if they wanted it, and it's an easy potential fit to consider.

3. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have one of the better, and more underrated, edge rushers in the NFL in Brian Burns. But after him it's underachievers (Yetur Gross-Matos), situational types (Marquis Haynes, Amare' Barno) and a recently signed older veteran (Justin Houston). Some help could be deemed necessary, if possible.

If they don't make an accepted trade offer for him beforehand, the Panthers are in line to get a good look at Okwara in Friday night's preseason finale.

It's also worth noting that former Lions' defensive line coach Todd Wash now has the same job in Carolina. So he's got some inside knowledge, to possibly drive any interest they'd have in Okwara
