Detroit Lions sell out season tickets for second year in a row
The Detroit Lions had a lot of hype heading into last season, so it was not all that surprising that season tickets wound up being sold out for the first time in Ford Field history. That announcement came in early August, after training camp had started.
On Monday morning, the Lions announced season tickets (Lions Loyal Memberships, in team vernacular) have been sold out for the 2024 season.
"Our Lions Loyal Members are the heartbeat of our fanbase and the true foundation of our incredible home-field advantage," Detroit Lions COO Mike Disner said in a statement. "We are proud to have reached a sellout of memberships and want to encourage interested fans to join the waitlist for the best opportunity to attend our games at Ford Field in 2025 and beyond."
Back in March, Lions president Rod Wood said there was a 20,000-person waitlist for season tickets. A substantial increase in ticket prices was previously out there, with season ticket holders lamenting the change that seemed like a mistake for some when they received the email.
Detroit Lions fans fully embracing a Super Bowl contender
But plenty of Lions' fans are willing to pay that increased freight for season tickets, to see a team that paid off last year's hype with a trip to the NFC Championship Game and looks like a legit Super Bowl contender this year.
Beyond the typical games against their three NFC North rivals, the Lions will welcome the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans to Ford Field during the regular season.
The Lions also announced a limited amount of single-game tickets will be available around the release of the 2024 regular season schedule on Wednesday night, with the remainder of single-game inventory available at a later date. To join the waitlist for 2025 Lions' season tickets, go here.
In other Lions' news, the team also announced black alternate Dan Campbell jerseys are available at the team store inside Ford Field.
