7. Jared Goff

This is the wildcard of the group, but Jared Goff already deserves to be on a list like this. And, to be quite honest, he will find himself a handful of spots higher after just one more season with the Lions. The history at quarterback is that bad, that we're talking about a guy who has only spent two years as the team's starter and will undoubtedly go down as a top-five passer of all-time in Detroit's history.

In 2022, Goff found himself back in the Pro Bowl for the first time in a few years, since he was under the tutelage of Sean McVay with the Los Angeles Rams. During that bounce-back 2022 season, Goff threw for 4,438 yards, 29 touchdowns and just seven picks. It was a true revitalization of talent for Goff and a Lions team that wasn't given much of a chance to be anything.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Goff, as the Lions also drafted Tennessee's Hendon Hooker to eventually replace him. If Goff continues to light it up, the Lions are in for quite the decision down the line.

Already, after just two years, Goff sits 13th on the Lions' all-time passing chart with 7,683 yards. He's thrown 48 touchdowns to just 15 picks in those seasons, as well. If he's allowed to stick around and holds off Hooker for the starting gig, Goff is going to have a great shot at finding the no. 2 spot overall. At this rate, he just needs two or three more seasons with the Lions.
