NFC North QB Power Rankings heading into Week 4
By Ryan Heckman
2. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Speaking of that Thursday night matchup, Jared Goff checks in at no. 2 on our power rankings this week. He has thrown for 819 yards this season, good for sixth in the league. Goff has tossed five touchdowns to just two picks, and he's also ran in a score. He's completing 69.9 percent of his passes and owns a quarterback rating of 101.6.
Goff has only been sacked three times this season, too, being aided by a strong offensive line performance thus far. Three weeks in, and we're looking at just another season where Ben Johnson is going to be placed well above most other head coaching candidates this coming offseason. Johnson has helped Goff become more than an afterthought since coming to Detroit. Goff now looks like he's a long-term piece on this football team.
Thursday night, Goff will be going up against a top-10 pass defense in Green Bay, a week after throwing for 243 yards on the league's fourth-ranked pass defense in Atlanta. it's another tough test, early on for Goff, but the Lions offense will only continue to get better as the year goes on.
