The NFL is convening for league meetings for the next few days. A rule change proposal submitted by the Detroit Lions, awarding a third challenge to teams if they are successful on one of the first two challenges (not both, as before) was approved by a vote Monday.

Otherwise, the league calendar is in that middle ground between the teeth of free agency and the draft in April right now. There are some notable free agents still available, and the Lions could have a good opportunity to address a fresh level of need at cornerback after the unfortunate situation with Cameron Sutton. Time will tell if something happens there, or with anything further of note in free agency.

With that, let's look at some Lions news on this Monday before Easter.

Lions land lofty spot in ESPN post-free agency power rankings

ESPN came out with their post-free agency 2024 power rankings on Monday morning. The two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs are obviously No. 1, but the Lions came in at No. 2.

"Under-the-radar move: Keeping OC Ben Johnson and DC Aaron Glenn"

"After last season ended one game shy of reaching the Super Bowl, many people in Detroit considered it a foregone conclusion that at least one of the team’s coordinators would leave for a head coaching position. Both coordinators will return, however, and the Lions will maintain a strong foundation with the same systems in place."-Eric Woodyard

Other sites are out with post-free agency power rankings as well, and here's where the Lions come in on those (h/t to John Maakaron of SI.com for the roundup).
