3. Detroit trades for WR Courtland Sutton

Prior to the 2023 trade deadline, the Lions dealt for former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, who did not end up being a factor for this offense. This offseason, Josh Reynolds is a free agent. The Lions would probably love to have him back and run mostly the same offense back next season.

Or, they could look at somewhat of an upgrade. The Denver Broncos need to relieve some cap space this offseason, and Detroit, as we've established, has a good amount of it.

Before last year's deadline, the Broncos were rumored to be listening to offers for both of their top receivers, Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.

With Amon-Ra St. Brown being a target-dominating presence, the style and talent of Sutton would mesh really well with this offense. He's a true outside receiver who can give Jared Goff big play ability.

In order to get Sutton, the Lions probably wouldn't have to trade much. Denver could cut Sutton and save $10 million, so I would think something along the lines of a future fourth-round pick could get it done. That doesn't seem like a lot, especially for a guy with Sutton's talent. But again, Denver doesn't exactly have the right to barter.
