Detroit Lions best bets for Week 4 vs. Green Bay Packers
As usual, before getting into Week 4's best Detroit Lions bets, let's see how Week 3's bets did.
TE Sam LaPorta, Over 3.5 Receptions (-102, FanDuel): 8 receptions
RB Jahmyr Gibbs
Over 11.5 Rush Attempts (-130, DraftKings)
Over 49.5 Rushing Yards (-110, DraftKings)
Over 77.5 Rushing and Receiving Yards (-115, DraftKings): 17 carries for 80 yards, 82 total yards
A good week. But we don't rest on any laurels here, so it's on to Week 4.
It's a short week for the Lions (2-1), as they'll head to Lambeau Field to take on the also 2-1 Green Bay Packers for Thursday Night Football.
The news on the injury front is somewhat promising for the Lions, with left tackle Taylor Decker and running back David Montgomery listed as questionable. The Packers are also in line to have running back Aaron Jones, wide receiver Christian Watson and cornerback Jaire Alexander available.
With the sportsbook you can find it on noted, here are our best Lions bets for Week 4.
Detroit Lions best bets for Week 4 vs. Packers
TE Sam LaPorta, Over 4.5 Receptions (+116, FanDuel, +130, Draft Kings)
LaPorta has at least five receptions in each of his first three career games. The contrarian angle says that streak has to stop sometime, but the over 4.5 catches here is too simple to bet at plus-money.
RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Anytime Touchdown (+125, FanDuel; +120, DraftKings)
If Montgomery plays, and that's a sizeable if even with the positivity in his questionable listing, he is sure to be limited to some degree. So Gibbs is in line for a large role again, and ideally he'll be a little more involved in the passing game.
Gibbs has had a couple near-misses on potential touchdowns, as the turf monster got him in Week 1 and Jared Goff ran in a read-option in Week 3 after a fake to the rookie running back. If Montgomery is on limited snaps they may be tilted toward short yardage/goal line, but I still like a bet on Gibbs to score his first NFL touchdown.
DE Aidan Hutchinson, Over .75 Sacks (+150, DraftKings)
After going without a sack over the first two games this season, Hutchinson had two in Week 3 as the Lions tallied seven as a team against the Falcons. The Packers will be down left tackle David Bakhtiari and left guard Elgton Jenkins on Thursday night, and right tackle Zach Tom is listed as questionable.
One sack for Hutchinson on Thursday night feels like a too-easy bet, and it has a good chance to cash very early in the game.
