Few teams have the amount of hype behind them heading into the 2023 season than the Detroit Lions.

After falling one win short of the playoffs last season, the Lions have continued to improve in the offseason and are now projected to be one of the top teams in the NFC.

I broke down my best bet for this Lion's team in my "32 bets for 32 teams" article, which you can read here, but in this preview I'm also going to break down all the other available odds for the Lions ahead of Week 1 of the 2023 campaign.

Detroit Lions Super Bowl 58 odds

Believe it or not, the Lions are tied for the ninth best odds to win Super Bowl 58 alongside the Los Angeles Chargers. Not only that, but they have the fourth best odds amongst NFC teams with only the Eagles, 49ers, and Cowboys listed with better odds.

The Lions had the fifth best scoring offense last season, averaging 26.6 points per game. The biggest question this season is if their offense can remain as effective while improving on the defensive side of the ball. If they can do that, they have a real shot to represent the NFC in this year's Super Bowl.

Detroit Lions win total prediction for the 2023 season

The Lions' win total doesn't exactly add up with people's expectations of the team. They went 9-8 last season and still missed the playoffs, so with their win total for the upcoming season set at right around the same number at 9.5, fans should feel a little bit of concern looking at this number.

The bright side is the OVER is favored at -120, so there's a better than 50% chance that they win 10 games this season, which should be enough for a wild card spot in the NFC.

According to Sharpfootballanalysis.com, the Lions have the 11th easiest schedule in the NFL this season. For that reason, I like the OVER on their win total this year.

Detroit Lions odds to win NFC North

Strap in, Lions fans. Your team are officially the betting favorites to win the NFC North.

Detroit has never won the NFC North, as I'm sure you Lions fans are aware. The NFC North began as a division in 2002 and the Lions have never managed to win it. The last time they won their division was in 1993 when it was called the NFC Central. That's right, they haven't won their division since the Barry Sanders era.

That streak may finally come to an end in 2023.

Detroit Lions odds to win NFC

As I wrote above, the Lions have the fourth best odds to win the NFC behind only the Eagles, Cowboys, and 49ers.

A $100 bet on the Lions to win the NFC would win you a profit of $1,000 if they can achieve the feat.

What a world!

Best Detroit Lions season-long prop bets

Amon-Ra St.Brown Most Regular Season Receiving Yards (+3000)

This is my biggest longshot bet of the 2023 NFL season. I don’t necessarily think that Amon-Ra St. Brown should be the favorite in this category, but he has amazing value at +3000 to lead the league in receiving yards.

He had a breakout year in 2023, racking up 106 receptions for 1,161 yards and six touchdowns. But, more importantly, he has the No. 2 rated wide receiver behind Tyreek Hill, according to PFF.com.

He did all of that while ranking just sixth in targets with 146. If he can get as many looks as players like Justin Jefferson and Davante Adams, he has the chance to lead the league in receiving yards.

I don’t love the hype behind the Lions this year, but there is no doubt that he’s their best offensive weapon. Even if you don’t think Detroit will live up to expectations, there’s no denying St. Brown will be one of the best receivers in the NFL.
