As he as emerged from being tabbed as a "knee cap biting" neanderthal by some people after his introductory press conference, the vision Dan Campbell professed for the Detroit Lions on that day has almost come to complete fruition.

If there's one thing abundantly certain, it's how much Campbell has fostered belief from Lions' players, with the results that now show it. With this interview from before the Monday night game against the Raiders last season as evidence, how could a player not want to run through a metaphorical wall for him?

Lions fans are also obviously fans of Campbell as much as they are fans of any player or players. He once said he wanted to have a real lion on the sideline, for goodness sake, but the pesky NFL got in the way.

"I’m not gonna point out Roger (Goodell) on this, I’m just gonna say the league frowns on that, let’s just say that,” Campbell told the "Pardon My Take" podcast in 2023.

There's of course a lot of anticipation for what the Lions could do this coming season. Rookies are reporting for training camp on Saturday, as long as the global technology outage doesn't get in the way to delay the arrival of some, with veterans to follow on Tuesday,

One fan at the Bestmaze Corn Maze in Williamston, Michigan, near Lansing, put in some serious work to honor Campbell and the Lions on the verge of training camp starting.

The maze, such as it could be called one, depicts Campbell wearing a hat that says "GRIT" with his head surrounded by a lion's mane. "One Pride, Go Lions!" is spelled at the bottom. It's incredibly detailed, and it's obviously massive even without knowing the specific measurements.

In another sense, that design is begging to be put on a t-shirt.

NFL fans noticed.

Here's a look at how the Dan Campbell corn maze was created.
