BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan likes the Lions to win and cover at Lambeau just like they did in Week 18 last season.

Last season, the Green Bay Packers had a chance to make the playoffs in Aaron Rodgers’ final game and the Detroit Lions came into Lambeau Field and beat them. The Lions and Packers are both 2-1, but BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan has seen more from Detroit so far.

MacMillan picks every game of the season in his “Road to 272” and this week he’s backing the Lions as road favorites in Green Bay on Thursday Night Football.

Betting expert for Lions in Week 4

Jared Goff isn’t everyone’s favorite quarterback, but he was very good last week against the Falcons and BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan has far more concerns about his counterpart in this matchup.

“Entering Week 4, I still have a lot of concern about the play of Jordan Love," MacMillan wrote. "Sure, he has thrown seven touchdowns and only one interception, but he has a completion percentage of just 53.1% this season. Only Zach Wilson has a lower completion percentage than Love through the first three weeks.”

Detroit’s offense has been very good behind Goff this season, but that was true last year and it wasn’t good enough to make it to the playoffs. Now, MacMillan is liking what he sees on the other side of the ball.

“Meanwhile, it's not just the Lions offense that has been cooking this season, but their defense ranks sixth in opponent yards per play, allowing just 4.6 yards per snap," MacMillan wrote. "If they can keep that up, they'll be a dangerous team for anyone to face this season.”

That’s why he’s taking the Lions -1.5 on Thursday Night Football.
