The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys are set to face-off in a pivotal game in the NFC. Both teams have locked up a playoff berth, but they still have time to improve their seeding in the postseason.

You can find my best bet for the game in this week's edition of the "Road to 272 Bets", but in this article, we're going to focus on some player props.

Lions vs. Cowboys prop bets

  • Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 47.5 rushing yards
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown OVER 6.5 receptions
  • Jared Goff OVER 251.5 passing yards

Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 47.5 rushing yards

The Lions would be smart to get the ball in Jahmyr Gibbs' hands as much as possible down the stretch of the season and that's exactly what they did last week against the Vikings. He ran the ball 15 times for 80 yards.

He's now averaging a blistering 5.66 yards per carry this season which is almost a full yard more than what David Montgomery is averaging. Considering the Cowboys are dead last in the NFL in opponent rush success rate. Gibbs could be poised for a big game.

Amon-Ra St. Brown OVER 6.5 receptions

Taking the OVER on Amon-Ra St. Brown's receptions is a near must-bet on a weekly basis. He has gone over this number in two-straight games, hauling in a combined 19 catches against the Broncos and Vikings.

If the Cowboys offense is humming, the Lions are going to need some big plays from their offense to keep pace and that's where St. Brown comes in. They should throw the ball his way early and often.

Jared Goff OVER 251.5 passing yards

Jared Goff is averaging 265.5 passing yards per game this season so if he just hits his season average for passing yards, he's going to soar over this set total for Saturday night.

As I wrote above about Amon-Ra St. Brown, this game has all the makings of an offensive shootout so the Lions are going to need to go to the air early and often to keep pace with the potent Cowboys offense. As a result, I think he has a chance of smashing 251.5 passing yards against Dallas.
