After a set of joint practices this week, the Detroit Lions will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday in the second preseason game for both teams. The Lions will rest starters and some "selected" rookies, which is no surprise and the Jaguars will probably do much the same.
But that doesn't mean there won't be anything interesting for Lions fans to watch on Saturday. Some roster battles are ongoing, and plenty is at stack for plenty of players who are fighting for roles and roster spots. In another sense, putting some good game tape out there for other teams to see is important for those who may eventually be cut.
So while key players will be in street clothes as essentially cheerleaders, all four quarters on Saturday could be important for the shaping the last handful or so spots on the Lions' roster.
With that in mind, here are six Lions players to watch against the Jaguars on Saturday.

6. CB Chase Lucas
With starters resting, Lucas is line to play a bunch on Saturday. He made the team after a good preseason as a seventh-round pick last year, but a far deeper Lions' secondary makes it a tougher battle for him this time around and undrafted rookie Starling Thomas may have the edge for a roster spot. In the preseason opener against the Giants, Lucas did not look good (102.1 passer rating allowed).
Lucas has worked as a nickel corner on the second and third-team defenses during camp, with some good work on special teams in practice and the first preseason game. But how he rebounds from last week's struggles in coverage stands to be something the coaching staff will be watching, with plenty of snaps to see.
A good showing against the Jaguars looks critical for Lucas.
