You never apologize for winning, no matter the circumstances, and the Detroit Lions got it done against the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener. It's fair to say the Lions find a way to lose a game like that more often than not in the past, so it's certainly a step of progress for a team with high hopes this season.

Head coach Dan Campbell has used the phrase "correctable issues" in reference to Week 1, and there certainly are some issues to correct moving forward. But with a starting offense that didn't play in the preseason, and a rebuilt secondary that got its first game reps together in the season opener, some kinks were to be expected.

There were certainly some very good individual performances for the Lions in Week 1, however too brief in at least one case. But there are some other players who had a rough outing against Kansas City, and they will be looking to rebound against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.

If the Lions are going to move to 2-0 on the season with a win in the home opener against the Seahawks, better showings from these five players stand to be meaningful. In some cases, better performances will be critical and on center stage to getting a win.
