5 Detroit Lions players who are definitely entering their last season with the team
As we move closer to the 2023 season, these five Detroit Lions players are definitely entering their last season with the team.
The Detroit Lions sensed an opportunity to strike in what looks like a vulnerable NFC North, refurbishing their defensive secondary in free agency and adding some interesting pieces in the draft.
With those additions also came some other decisions by the Lions to keep players around, with a sizeable pay cut in a couple cases. With better talent on the roster, the competition for jobs has ramped up naturally. But there is something about the culture in Detroit right now that led to players wanting to stay, even if it meant taking a re-worked contract to do it and not take a chance on the open market.
But the Lions have a young roster again this year, though that may start to shift as some current core players get a little older. No one the defensive side of the ball is older than 29, and on the offensive side only offensive lineman Graham Glasgow is currently 30 years old. Left tackle Taylor Decker will turn 30 before this season starts (Aug. 23).
Lions fans probably aren't too attached to many players on the 2023 roster, as a rebuild has been going on. But these five guys are likely entering their final season with the team.
