The Detroit Lions went into a well-placed bye week with a 6-2 record, and there's sentiment out there about them making a legit run at the top seed in the NFC playoffs. The remaining schedule puts that realistically into play, and it's fair to say the Lions have some areas to improve looking toward the stretch run and into what they hope will be a long playoff run,

While the Lions' present situation looks good, the future looks great too. Sure they'll have to start paying some guys market value contracts over the next couple years, but general manager Brad Holmes' draft record says the pipeline of young talent will be remain full as others graduate out of rookie contracts.

But as bright as the future is for Detroit, some players will simply not be part of it as soon as next year. That future may be being foreshadowed right now for some, by them not being noticeable contributors to the team's current success. A reduced role in line with not being a notable contributor, through fault of their own or not, is another indicator of who will not be around in 2024.

As the Lions head into their post-bye week stretch drive and make a push to the playoffs, these four players are likely playing their last games with the team.
