2. at Arizona Cardinals, Week 3

After back-to-back home games against two of their playoff opponents from last year, the Lions will take a trip to the desert to play the Cardinals.

Arizona's rebuild seems to be on a nice track. But they aren't quite there yet in terms of being a real factor in the NFC West, and the conference as a whole.

After the first two games of the season, and before a couple tougher games on each side of the bye week, the Cardinals' game falls firmly into the "win the ones you're supposed to" column for the Lions. And if they take care of business like a good team should, it could be a blowout with Hendon Hooker's first NFL regular season action to finish it out.

1. vs. Tennessee Titans, Week 8

The Titans could be sneaky good this year after a solid offseason, which was highlighted by a change at head coach. They are also in a division that could be there for the taking, if the Houston Texans have any kind of drop-off with a tougher schedule this year.

But there's a huge difference between possibly surging up the standings in the AFC South and beating one of the best teams in the league on the road. This is the Lions' only home game during the previously mentioned five-week stretch right after their bye, and overall it's one that feels like they should win handily when looking at the schedule as a whole.

A lot of early betting lines have this game as the one the Lions are the biggest favorite in this season. Even without that, and while no game should be taken for granted in the NFL, the Lions should have very little trouble beating the Titans-and they should do so decisively.
