NFL analyst is all-in on the Detroit Lions for the rest of the season
The Detroit Lions are 9-1, they're the Super Bowl betting favorite for the first time ever and they have a strong argument as the best team in the NFL right now. There's a long way to go before making certain declarations about them, but it's a rare analyst or talking head that isn't willing to heap a lot of praise on them.
The Lions are set to be favored in many of their remaining regular season games, including Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts (7.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook as kickoff approaches). Winning out to finish 16-1 would be something, but it's not out of the question as they can win in many different ways (chameleons, as Jared Goff called them).
Being able to win in different ways will be a virtual requirement in the playoffs, when the competition gets tougher and the margin for errors narrows.
Analyst is all-in on the Lions from here on out this season
On CBS Sports Network's "That Other Pregame Show" Sunday morning, host Adam Schein made a declaration when the Lions were the topic of discussion heading into the day's games.
"I'm in a stage right now, where I'm picking the Lions to win every game they play the rest of the year", Schein said.
After CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones prompted him by asking, "Super Bowl?", Schein continued.
"Super Bowl. Not to mention they can win any style of fight. It's offense. it's Ben Johnson. It's the offensive line, it's two running backs. It's Amon Ra-St. Brown. Jared Goff's playing the best football of his career. Special teams, it's Bates making all those bomb kicks, in Houston. It's Dan Campbell. It's Brad Holmes. This team has everything you want in a champion."
It's one thing to predict the Lions will go to or win the Super Bowl, as many may right now or many will eventually do. But Schein is at the point he's declaring his readiness to pick them to win every game they play from here on out this season, all the way through the Super Bowl in February against whoever the AFC might present. There's being high on the Lions, then there's using a public forum to go all-in.
Schein is all-in.
