With another preseason game about to get underway this week, this time at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions have unveiled their updated unofficial depth chart for their game against the Washington Commanders.
There's only one real "change" to note, and that's the Lions' swap of Luke Altmyer for Josh Dobbs behind Jared Goff. Otherwise, it's more of the same for the Lions save for a few cuts that have impacted their depth on defense, specifically.

Takeaways from unofficial depth chart for Week 2
As we mentioned, there's fairly little change on this week's depth chart outside of at quarterback. Left guard continues to be in flux, and while Juice Scruggs is listed as the starting LG for the Lions over Christian Mahogany, Mahogany will likely get a significant number of snaps there in this game. Scruggs is likely to get some looks at center.
At center, Michael Niese is still ahead of Seth McLaughlin, who played a ton of snaps in the Lions' first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Niese had a PFF grade of 38.6 in that game, while McLaughlin finished up with a grade of 62. This order on the depth chart will likely change as long as McLaughlin continues to improve.

Tyleik Williams is holding firmly onto the starting defensive tackle job opposite Alim McNeill, which is a great sign from the second-year lineman.
In Detroit's secondary, Roger McCreary remains the Lions' starting nickel back on paper. After an OK showing in preseason, albeit a shortened one, he'll continue to get an opportunity to win that spot over rookie Keith Abney II. Ennis Rakestraw Jr. seems like a firm lock as a depth piece behind D.J. Reed and Rock-Ya Sin as an outside corner.
