When the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders get together this weekend, for the NFC Divisional Round, the two teams will be taking one of the most anticipated stages in league history.
I guess that's what happens when you mix the league's top offense with a rookie phenom at quarterback that's taken his team exponentially further than anyone would have anticipated.
The Lions not only have the NFL's top offense led by offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, but their defensive coordinator, Aaron Glenn, joins Johnson atop the most coveted head coaching candidates right now.
Detroit is the talk of the league, this year, with so much having gone on inside their building that would have derailed any other team. All of the Lions' injuries have felt like one gigantic nightmare for fans, at times, yet this team continues to win football games. Seeing their injured reserve list amass double-digits, this season, has been a difficult sight to see.
Still, the Lions remain a Super Bowl favorite.
More Lions news:
And it just so happens that this Super Bowl favorite gets to take on the exciting and talented Jayden Daniels who seems like a lock for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. It's a matchup many fans are more than excited for.
Just how anticipated is this game, though? Believe it or not, the matchup between the Lions and Commanders has already seen an NFL record broken.
The 2025 Lions-Commanders Divisional Round game is now the most expensive non-Super Bowl ticket of all-time
According to ESPN's Field Yates, this game has become the most expensive non-Super Bowl ticket in NFL history.
The average ticket price sits just below $1,000 ($991). The get-in price for the game is as low as $588 according to TickPick, which includes the price of fees and whatnot.
If you were to look at a site such as StubHub, for example, you could technically get a pair of tickets for as low as around $400 each. However, that is before fees and all of the extra charges. Not to mention, ticket prices are, indeed, always changing this close to game time.
If you're still looking to get into this game, waiting up until just before the game is, of course, always a good strategy if you're looking for the best possible deal. But, as of a couple of days before the game, this matchup had set records.
As they say, the numbers speak for themselves. Will this game live up to the hype?
