That about sums it up.

Monday Night Football was absolutely everything football fans were looking for between the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens. It was one of those highly-entertaining games from the jump and the anticipation lasted all the way until the very last couple of minutes.

Ultimately, Detroit put up 38 points on this once-vaunted Ravens defense. Following the Lions' win, it was interesting to hear perspectives from the Baltimore locker room. One Ravens defender, in particular, seemed dumbfounded when he was trying to describe the state of Baltimore's defense.

2-time All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey was asked about how he would assess the defense. His reply was very telling about how the Lions were able to demoralize that unit.

"Um... I'm not going to give my honest, my, my... uh... I, I mean... we're just not very good," Humphrey said.

The Lions took one of football's oldest clichés and turned it into a reality vs. the Ravens

You might have heard the term "got punched in the mouth" a time or two. Of course you have. Dan Campbell is the head coach of this fan base's beloved team. Detroit came out and delivered a gut punch in this one.

The run game might have started slow, but John Morton didn't quit. He continued handint Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery the rock, and in the end, the two of them delivered a signature tandem performance.

The Lions ended up with a whopping 224 rushing yards against Baltimore, while Jared Goff had a ho-hum 202 yards passing. The run game was the big story, here, and Humphrey knows it. The answer he was ultimately able to give after a few pauses was right on point.

The Ravens defense really isn't all that good, and Detroit exposed that fact in a mighty way.

I think every Lions fan could come away from this game proud of the performance, all around. Not only did the offense get it done, but the Lions' defense was able to sack Lamar Jackson a surprising seven times. That's unheard of.

Humphrey is stumped for now, while the Lions know exactly who they are after a Week 1 loss caused some worry. Things are all sorted out in Detroit, and these Lions are going to be just fine.
