Detroit's trenches are in need of some serious TLC.
That much was clear this past season, and it became even more clear to Lions fans who tuned into Super Bowl 60 and watched the Seattle Seahawks stay afloat thanks to a vicious defensive front and an offensive line intent on run-blocking for Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III.
It feels likely the Lions will be stalking around some free agents and trade candidates this offseason to try and address their holes on each respective line, but specifically at center and at edge rusher. At guard, tackle, and defensive tackle, the Lions have some legitimate options in the 2026 NFL Draft.
FanSided.com's Cody Williams's recently pieced together a post-Super Bowl 60 3-round mock draft, and for the Lions, he has them grabbing a perfect tackle and edge rusher with just two picks out of the three rounds mocked: Kadyn Proctor and Derrick Moore.
Lions snag perfect duo in latest 3-round mock draft following Super Bowl
Williams writes of the Lions' Proctor pick:
"In one of my first mock drafts of the year, I had the Lions drafting Kadyn Proctor. But with the consensus seeming to be that the Alabama product was likelier to be a late-first-rounder, I started dropping him down a bit. Then I remembered this is Detroit, and value be damned. Proctor seems exactly the type of behemoth that Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes will love, and he plugs an immediate need at either guard or tackle."
As Williams notes, Proctor can slide into guard if, for whatever reason, Christian Mahogany isn't showing progress after dealing with injuries in 2025. But, tackle is where the Lions are likely hoping Proctor can thrive behind Taylor Decker.
Best case scenario: Decker can go another season, provide a good year at left tackle, while Proctor learns the ropes and backs him up to form a pretty formidable blind-side duo on the Lions' line. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein projects him to be a good starter within two years, and learning from Decker is probably one of the best situations you can place a rookie like him in.

With Moore, the Lions would be landing a pretty great edge rusher in case of Al-Quadin Muhammad's departure in free agency. He just finished up his last season with the Michigan Wolverines with a career-high 10 sacks and two forced fumbles. He's also disruptive along the line as a pass defender, breaking up three this past season.
He'd be an excellent second round pick for Detroit before they begin to dive into fourth round options for their offensive line and safety room. Defense has to be just as big of a priority in this draft as their offensive line is, and Moore is a great pick if other top prospects like David Bailey, Keldrick Faulk, and Akheem Mesidor are off the board.
