The Detroit Lions will face off against the Miami Dolphins for their third preseason game and first at Ford Field on Saturday. Ahead of the matchup, the Lions held a series of joint practices this week with the Dolphins in preparation for Saturday's preseason game.
The Lions were impressive against the Dolphins in the joint practices with Miami and are hoping it translates to the game on Saturday.
While he is unlikely to play in the preseason game against the Dolphins, the Lions' starting quarterback gave his thoughts on Detroit's joint practice with Miami this week.
"It's always great to get some new jersey's out there, some new people to get to go against," said Goff.
Goff and the Lions saw much success on offense this week in the practices with the Dolphins, which included an impressive performance by star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown on Wednesday. St. Brown was impressive in one-on-one reps against the Dolphins' defensive backs throughout this week.

While the offense was impressive, the Lions' defense also showed some encouraging signs throughout the week, including great performances from the defensive line. After weeks of playing against his team, Goff said it was exciting to see the Lions' defense go up against a different team.
"I think it always happens at the right time in camp, when you're getting annoyed of your own defense, and I told them I excited from them to go annoy someone else, it was fun to be out here and remeber that you're on the same team again, being against a different team, and being able to root for each other is fun," said Goff.
After the Lions play host to the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, they will play their fourth and final game at Ford Field against the Houston Texans on August 23rd. The Lions have a 1-1 record in the preseason, after a 17-10 win on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.
Detroit will open up the 2025 NFL regular season against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on September 7th.
