Ben Johnson couldn't have thought he'd be meeting a kind environment on Ford Field in Week 2. Still, Detroit Lions fans couldn't leave any doubt about Johnson's reputation as he walked onto the field for the first time as the Chicago Bears' head coach.

Johnson left for the Bears' head coaching vacancy this offseason, drawing ire from Lions fans who were not looking forward to seeing Johnson try to lead an upstart Chicago team in the same division. This is especially the case considering the NFC North is just so competitive this year. The Lions aren't a shoo-in to win the title again.
As Detroit looks to get their offense back into a rhythm, as they're now led by John Morton, the fanbase is clearly not over the fact that Johnson has decided to take his offensive talents just across the way, so to speak.
Lions shower Johnson with boos ahead of Week 2 clash
While fans might not have much love for Johnson, his former players certainly do. Jameson Williams told reporters this week:
"He's been a good guy, a great guy. Taught me a lot about how to approach the game. He taught me how to learn the game, We talked a lot. I talked to him a couple times this offseason just checking up on him and my guy Luther Burden over there. I was just calling him and I ended up talking to Ben (Johnson) somehow. I appreciate everything he's done for me. He's helped me a lot and that's just that."

Amon-Ra St. Brown jokingly said on his podcast, "The St. Brown Podcast:"
“Week 2 is gonna be so crazy. I promise you. It’s going to be so electric. But as soon as Ben (Johnson) walks in there, we’re booing him. I don’t give a f—. We all booing him.”
Fans have every right to feel some sort of way about Johnson this year. After an 0-1 start, all they've had to hear this week was just how much the team had to be missing his services, in a record overreaction. Meanwhile, Chicago is also 0-1 after totally stalling on offense against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1.
We'll see who proves victorious in this one, but it sure feels like whoever does walk away with a win will have some major bragging rights for weeks to come.
