Amon-Ra St. Brown is fully on board with the Lions making trade for Myles Garrett

It's not really surprising, but Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown would welcome Myles Garrett aboard.

Since Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett issued a statement making his trade request public on Monday morning, the Detroit Lions have been among the teams tied to potentially acquiring him. A deal to get him automatically feels unlikely on its face for the Lions, but they are in a position to consider bold moves.

Failing to at least getting involved in conversations with the Browns about Garrett would border on malpractice by general manager Brad Holmes. Name a team they are competing with among the best teams in the league (or division rivals), and they will surely at least make a call to Browns general manager Andrew Berry.

On the "Rich Eisen Show" Tuesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero suggested it could be a while before anything happens as long as the Browns maintain their stance about not trading Garrett. How that will impact the number of trade suitors, or the cost, is unclear right now. But a process that extends beyond the first week of the league year, or up to or through the draft as Pelissero suggested, could benefit the possible suitors who are the most patient.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, naturally, is on board with idea of Lions getting Myles Garrett

On the new episode of the "St. Brown Podcast" with his brother Equanimeous for Super Bowl week, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown talked about the team making bold moves this offseason.

The idea of trading for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp came up, of course, causing St. Brown to daydream a little as he rattled of all the star power the Lions' offense would have then. Equanimeous dismissed the Kupp idea, deferring to the Lions needing to add to their defense (and he's right about that).

Regarding Garrett though, St. Brown made it clear he is fully on board with the Lions trading for him..

"I should probably text (general manager) Brad (Holmes) and see, you know, what they're thinking about doing," St. Brown said. "Him (Garrett) and Aidan and Alim and DJ and all of our D-line. If you have a defensive line that's nasty, you don't need any corners. You don't. You don't need anything."

St. Brown surely speaks for most, if not all, of his teammates regarding the idea of the Lions trading for Garrett this offseason.
