Detroit Lions rookie lineman Miles Frazier has stalled out before he could even step foot on the practice field this offseason, with head coach Dan Campbell telling reporters that he believes Frazier could be out until at least October with a knee injury.

Campbell gave the massive amount of injury updates he could provide during Tuesday's media availability, with Frazier's update coming after a reporter questioned whether the rookie would be ready to suit up for training camp anytime soon. This means that Frazier will be missing not only training camp, but the preseason, as well.

That's a key time for rookies to earn playing time in the NFL, with Tate Ratledge and Isaac TeSlaa likely to get proper burn in the preseason as the team figures out if they can be slotted in at center and as a red zone wide receiver, respectively.

Other rookies, like Ahmed Hassanein, Tyleik Williams, Dan Jackson, and Dominic Lovett will all be getting an opportunity to showcase their talent over these next few weeks, while Frazier is sidelined with an injury he wasn't even drafted with.

Considering the Lions' great need on their offensive line right now, especially for guard depth, losing Frazier and losing time developing him is a big loss during training camp to suffer. After all, he was seen as one of the sturdiest picks in the Lions' draft class this year - he had 50 starts between he time at LSU and Florida International.

Currently, the Lions' guard depth includes Christian Mahogany, Graham Glasgow, Trystan Colon, Kayode Awosika, and Kingsley Eguakun. Glasgow, who is listed as a center, is likely to slide back over to the guard position with Ratledge seemingly winning the position over him.

Colon is in a similar situation, but he's now far more important than just an insurance signing since he'll also be getting some reps at guard with Ratledge's slide over.

Frazier is in a tough spot now. He'll have to likely ride the bench and hope that he gets an opportunity during practices in the regular season to show he's ready to be more than just a third string option at guard. If not, then he's certaintly a threat to be cut or relegated to the practice squad as a result of this injury.
