The Detroit Lions are set to face the New York Jets in Week 3, and honestly, it might be one of the easiest games for an NFC North opponent to be dealing with this week. The Jets, while now better than their 3-win 2025 season, are likely to struggle to contain the Lions' potent offense in this game. On the flip side, of course, is concern that Detroit won't be able to contain New York's offense.
This is either going to be a shootout, or a decisive victory for someone. This isn't likely to be a game featuring a ton of high level defense.

Detroit will give up 30 points to New York - and win
The Lions' defense is not doing a good job as of late of keeping big plays to a minimum, or getting off the field quickly. As a result, they're tiring themselves out while seeing little positive results due to their play. They should have a slightly easier time this week as they're not facing Josh Allen, but they'll need to contain Garrett Wilson downfield and Breece Hall on the ground.
I predict they'll struggle to keep the Jets' offense in check, allowing 30 points but still getting the win.
Jahmyr Gibbs will have 2 rushing touchdowns vs. Jets
Gibbs was quiet against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, collecting just 52 rushing yards in the loss. This week, he should have an easier time as Detroit's offensive line is looking healthier for this Jets game. Christian Mahogany and Blake Miller are both set to play, and they helped to provide some decent run blocking and pass protection in Week 1.
Gibbs should have a nice bounce back in this game.

Jameson Williams will finally hit 80+ receiving yards
New York has not had a hard time getting their defense going this season. They're allowing just 131.5 net passing yards per game, in addition to just three passing touchdowns through two games. Overall, they're allowing just 197 yards on offense per game, which is first in the NFL.
Still, Williams feels primed for a breakout game in this contest. Drops and a lack of targets have made it so he's begun his year quietly, but that's typical for Williams. He'll finally have an impact in this contest, with Goff finding him for a few big pickups to get his confidence going once again.
Aidan Hutchinson will have two sacks on Geno Smith
Smith tends to hold onto the football for a while, averaging 2.86 seconds to throw, per Sumer Sports. The Jets' offensive line is fairly solid this year, as Smith is also only scrambling 8 percent of the time, but that passing time could also benefit Hutchinson in this game. He's already spoken about how much he wants to go off in this game out of respect for Glenn:
"I got a lot of respect for him (Glenn), a ton. Definitely still trying to kick his ass on Sunday, though...That, to me, would be showing respect to AG, because I know he’s a great coach and he’s going to have his guys ready."
Hutchinson feels primed for a few pressures and sacks on Smith, who is a lot less mobile than Allen.
