Updated Detroit Lions roster, depth chart ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft

Before the upcoming additions in the 2023 NFL Draft, here’s an updated depth chart and roster for the Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions now have nine selections in the 2023 NFL Draft, barring any further moves before or during the proceedings. All nine won’t necessarily make the 53-man roster, but those who don’t will have some chance to stick around on the practice squad.

The Lions’ roster is down a couple of experienced players heading into the draft. After the league’s announcement of five players who’ve been suspended for gambling, two of the four suspended Lions (wide receiver Quintez Cephus and safety C.J. Moore) were cut. Neither was expected to have a huge role, beyond special team perhaps, but depth is depth and the Lions will eventually add people to replace them as they work through OTAs and on.
