Moving toward the 2023 NFL Draft, these four Detroit Lions players could be replaced by the end of the day on April 29.

The Detroit Lions had an active run in free agency, signing three players to bolster the secondary and signing David Montgomery to be the new lead running back when it became clear Jamaal Williams would not be back.

The draft, now nine days away as of this writing, will give the Lions a very nice opportunity to add talent. Two first-round picks, in the top-20 no less, two picks in the second round (No. 48 and No. 55) and a third-round pick that’s in the top-85 overall means there will be notable additions. And based on what general manager Brad Holmes has done on Day 3 in his first two drafts (Amon-Ra St. Brown, Malcolm Rodriguez, James Houston), four picks on the final day of the draft are lined up to bring someone (or multiple someones) who makes an immediate difference too.

The Lions are in position to take the best player available throughout this year’s draft, with needs both short and long-term to have an eye on. In a broader sense, depth and competition will be added to multiple spots.

But in particular, these four Lions players are vulnerable to being replaced by a 2023 draft pick.
