Expectations have been set for Jameson Williams as he prepares for his second NFL season, and he has posted showing him working out with Lions teammates.

Jameson Williams‘ rookie season was always going to be something of a redshirt season, coming off a torn ACL in his final college game. He played in six games, seeing 78 offensive snaps, with two touches (a catch and a carry) that both went for at least 40 yards.

A fully healthy offseason is lined up to set Williams on a breakout course for his second season. Some people wanted to read something bad into what general manager Brad Holmes said about Williams last month. But his full quote confirms there was nothing to read into.

That said, the bar is being raised for Williams. As it should be with a bigger role in store for him in 2023.

Still, some Lions fans may wonder or worry about Wiliams putting in the work.

Instragram posts being what they are in terms of huge value, Williams posted on his Instagram a phote of himself and Lions teammae Maurice Alexander (judging by the Instagram handle. Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was also shown (and Williams is visible behind him in the original post, wearing the same clothes as in his photo) in an Instagram post by his father’s company, Cane Protein, at the same location–St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California.

So Williams is getting work in before the Lions reconvene for OTAs. And if he can choose a teammate to work with, who also happens to be a position peer, St. Brown would be at the top of the list. It’s fair to assume quarterback Jared Goff, a California resident, will join these kind of workouts if he hasn’t already.

So whoever had concerns Williams’ passion for the game or work ethic can go ahead and put them aside.

Next. Peter King thinks Jared Goff is very important to the Detroit Lions future. dark
