As 2023 NFL free agency fast approaches, these three former Detroit Lions could wind up coming back.

For the first time in the free agency era, the last 30 years, the Detroit Lions are becoming a bit of a destination. The culture being built by general manager Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell is something players and coaches want to stay a part of, and that will surely be noticed by players on other teams as they may have to eventually consider their futures.

Players from previous Lions’ regimes, particularly those who played for Matt Patricia, have tended to part ways on poor terms with the organization. But “Quinn-Tricia” is gone, and the Lions are a team on the rise.

Even thinking about former Lions who could come back to the team in free agency after some time gone has been a far-fetched concept, and one not really even worth addressing. But this is a new era in Detroit, and the Lions won’t have to settle for bottom-barrel free agents.

But back to former Lions. These three former Lions could come back to the team in 2023 free agency. In a broad sense, there should be interest on both ends–player and team.
